Celebrating 30 years together

Since Auriga was born, tools and sales strategies have been changing and evolving to become what we know and have today. Back then, everything revolved around landline being the main weapon of contact and conquest of the customer and it was necessary to be strong and be known.

Now, we stand together celebrating 30 years of innovative software creation and have become a benchmark for high quality banking software. As the leading developer of integrated and multivendor proprietary solutions with an international scope, Auriga has helped define standards for the new omnichannel banking model.

From the early years to today, many things have happened along this path made up of many small obstacles and big goals of technological advances, which we couldn’t have overcome without the commitment of all the people who have worked and continued to work at Auriga – who contribute, every day, to the success of the company.

Key milestones of Auriga

In 1992, Auriga Informatica was born in Rome. Initially, it was a consulting company for the management and maintenance of software applications for ATM and POS payment systems, but then the innovative solutions, SimplyBank and SimplyBank Web, were developed for corporate and internet banking. This led to the birth of Auriganet, a spin-off of Auriga Informatica, offering products and services dedicated to large banks and banking groups.

A milestone in our history was winning a project with Poste Italiane in 2002, the Italian postal service provider. This partnership contributed a lot to the growth of our business. This led to the release of the first multivendor platform for the management of ATMs and self-service machines, which was welcomed by other large banking groups such as Banca Intesa.

In 2009, Auriga skilfully migrated 6,000 ATMs using WWS software in just three months. An excellent result achieved in record time, which allowed us to not only consolidate our commercial relationship with Poste Italiane, but also to benefit from the network created to increase Auriga’s recognition in Italy and abroad.

They were lively years full of ideas and excitement, years in which working in Auriga and for Auriga meant looking beyond borders – technological borders to experiment with new solutions, territorial borders beyond Italy, business borders to explore new markets.

Achieving success that we could only imagine, we gained foothold in London, Paris, and Frankfurt. The last few years have represented an opportunity with technological innovation as a frontier to look at, an element from which to be inspired and guided, on which to build our projects. Realising that innovation and passion plays an integral part of Auriga, we launched IC406 in 2018, the new incubator programme that aims to make brilliant teams and young talent successful by backing innovative ideas for digital businesses, in line with Open Innovation principle.

We have since acquired Lookwise Device Manager (LDM) a cybersecurity platform solution, opened offices in Madrid, Pamplona, Mexico City, Brussels, and acquired 52% of the share capital of Welfare4You, an Italian company specialising in the management of corporate welfare plans through innovative web platforms.

As an award-winning banking software provider with recognition for Best ATM/Self-Service Experience for our #NextGenBranch solution by BCX Summit Award in 2021 as well as winning the Peter Kulik Innovation Award in 2022 for WinWebServer (WWS) – for the innovation of our integrated ATM Acquiring solution, we are proud of what we have achieved together.
